A long weekend in the main cities of Belgium. Undoubtedly the most beautiful is Bruges (Brugge), which really has an atmosphere similar to that of Venice and is a true jewel: everything is well cared for and it feels like having gone back in time. Worth visiting are certainly Antwerp, above all for the museum on diamond working and its beautiful historic centre, and Ghent, with more nightlife than the previous ones but an equally enjoyable centre. All three cities can anyway easily be visited in a day. A separate mention goes to the capital, Brussels: I didn't like it much, it seemed chaotic and dirty to me, and its monuments, although very beautiful, are interspersed with other, more modern and certainly less interesting buildings. But this is just my opinion; some of my travel companions liked it.
In any case, the central square, the Atomium, the European Parliament area and the chocolate shops scattered around the city are certainly not to be missed. In all the cities of Belgium, moreover, you eat really well, in particular grilled meat and the speciality "mussels and chips", to be accompanied by the usual good LEFFE!!
