A Stopover in Minsk

During a flight with the Belarusian flag carrier Belavia I had a stopover at Minsk Airport. Having to wait about four hours for the next flight to Astana in Kazakhstan, I decided to pop into the city. I was with two friends who took a taxi with me into the centre. The time available was really short and, since the airport is about 40 minutes from Minsk, we limited ourselves to a short stop at Victory Park with its large Monument. Having taken the customary photos on the banks of the little lake and in the square in front of the Monument, we returned to the Airport passing through countryside dotted with villages. We then boarded the plane for Kazakhstan. On the way back from Astana we again had a stopover at Minsk Airport where we stayed for about four hours before boarding the flight to Rome.
