Andorra The Alitalia flight leaves from Pisa precisely on the last day of the summer timetable and so we set off while still in the dark, heading for Fiumicino and then Barcelona; here Mauro and I hire a car and head towards Andorra, a small state in the Pyrenees. As soon as we arrive we discover that, naturally, it's among the mountains, but that it has neither borders nor its own currency; it seemed obvious to me that there was the euro.
Here we immediately discover that the main activity is the sale in many shops of anything, since it's a free zone. We too visit a couple of shopping centres and notice that the prices are slightly lower than in Spain 100 metres away and in France where we'll go shortly. Yes, because here we're right at the border of the two countries. We eat something and have a nap in the car in a car park in Andorra.
Here everything is well built, nice pavements, nice roads; it reminds me a bit of the principality of Monaco.
The houses tend to go upwards; of little villas there's no sign; there's little space and, like Macau, the inhabitants are forced to live cramped.
We decide to continue, and shortly after we find the sign reading France, and of houses on the mountain pass you see no more; we say goodbye to Andorra and merge among the pastures and the cows.
bye
