The story

A great Thai tour entirely do-it-yourself, with only flights and accommodation booked in advance. Bangkok and surroundings, then Chiang Rai, the Golden Triangle (Thailand-Myanmar-Laos), Chiang Mai, and the islands of the Gulf of Siam: Ko Tao and its enchanting Nang Yuan, Ko Phangan and Ko Samui.
