Pakistan The Philippine Airlines Boeing 747, flying from Rome to Bangkok and then Manila, stops at Karachi in Pakistan. This is a technical stop; I can't say I've visited this country but I can say I've touched it. If someone had phoned me at that moment and asked me where are you? I would have answered in Pakistan. That's why I also include this state among those I've touched, even though it's practically the only one of all my trips that I've barely brushed against. Anyway, the landing took place in the dark and it was a good landing; unfortunately on the plane they'd put me in the smoking area and the consequence was a bad headache. The lights of Karachi greeted us as soon as we were at altitude, heading for Australia. Bye
