This time we really need to rest....what we need is just a bit of relaxation in a place with a beautiful sea...so when we find the roulette between Bathala and Rannalhi at 1300 euros each we don't think about it too much....off to the Maldives!!!!(we will later discover that there was also someone who paid a full 200 euros less than us...but also someone who paid quite a lot more...).
I must say I had hoped for Bathala...and when at Malpensa airport they handed us the travel documents and I read Rannalhi for a moment I was a bit disappointed...but oh well, they are taking me anyway to a small paradise island of the Indian Ocean.....so I have little to complain about!!! What can I say...the Maldives are beautiful, even if perhaps a bit overrated in my opinion....in the sense that the sea is decidedly beautiful (and the underwater world even more so!), but there are certainly many other places in the world that hold their own in comparison.... It is also true that from a certain point of view they are unique: the fact of being on an island of a few metres, surrounded by the sea, completely at the mercy of the sea....is something unique...that makes you feel truly out of this world! And that walking barefoot on the sand for a week is priceless...
The Maldives are really the ideal place for those who want to relax and switch off for a while. What I liked least has nothing to do with the beauty of the place, although perhaps it contributes to spoiling the atmosphere a bit: the entertainment and the music, too many Italians, the fact that Rannalhi is a bit too built-up for my taste (although the hotel is well integrated into the vegetation). I believe there will certainly be a second time in the Maldives, but on another island!!!
