Moofushi, here we come. Before winter arrives, a bit of relaxation and warmth with a lovely trip to the Maldives, a dream finally coming true. In Dhivehi, Moofushi means island of roots, a name given by the local community because of the mangroves with their developed aerial roots. In reality the subsoil too is full of roots that run up to 10 metres away from the trees they belong to. These roots form a kind of harness that keeps the island firm against the mechanisms of natural erosion. Unfortunately, though, not all dreams come true; in fact, out of a week's holiday we saw the sun for only 2 days, and for the rest it was storms, storms and more storms. Garland is the meaning of the Sanskrit term "Malodheep", from which the name Maldives derives.
Indeed, we believe that from the plane window the only comparable and unforgettable thing that opens before our eyes is this: a garland of green islands surrounded by a shining ring of white sand stretching into an emerald lagoon and further out to the blue of the deep. These are the Maldives. Anyway, despite the weather, a wonderful holiday from every point of view, a stunning resort, entertainment more than fantastic considering that in the Maldives it usually doesn't rain and so all activities are outdoors, and excellent company.
