Hello everyone, After deciding to leave at the last second, as always, we opted for the splendid Maldives; the price doesn't matter because we spent around 1700 for two... a bargain for me as a travel agent, tour operator Eurotravel We couldn't expect anything other than what everyone praises so much; no need to tell you, no one can be disappointed or doubt what so many describe. A dream... untouched nature... We set off from Rome, late evening, flight perfectly on time... almost on arrival, from above we begin to admire the little atolls, like emeralds, they look like jewels, with enchanting nuances! we arrive in Male, after a good 9.50 or so of flight. As soon as we get off the plane the heat hits you like a cloud of smoke... an incredible temperature swing! the weather is bad, grey sky and gentle rain... We take our boat and after more than an hour, we arrive at our destination...
The welcome is excellent, they come to meet us with a drink and some very hot and damp little towels, to use to refresh ourselves a bit... after the arrival procedures, the porters take our bags and show us to our delightful bungalow, very clean, a stone's throw from the sea... it should be said that it was cleaned at least 3 times a day... really nothing to complain about! we put on our swimsuits and head straight to the beach.. even if the weather isn't nice, it's hot and the sun burns even if it's not out... we should have known that!!! From the shore we admire small blacktip sharks, moray eels, rays, a frightening underwater world... that's when you really realise you are insignificant, those creatures are more than us! Wonderful water, an atoll with a very long sandbar that, at low tide, emerges and lets you find yourself truly in the middle of the ocean.
The coral reef is magnificent, even if in places it still shows the signs of the catastrophe from years ago... The food is excellent, nothing is missing... the papaya is adorable! We take two excursions, one for shopping... nothing special... but you realise how they really have nothing.. the other, to say: a dream, is really too little! they take us on a mini cruise to Kandoludu, a small and wonderful atoll! stunning reef, where you can also admire giant turtles! the bungalow is out of One Thousand and One Nights, typical Maldivian shower, whirlpool tub, plasma TV... in short, everything and more! They take us to a spa and pamper us, even though we weren't on our honeymoon... at the end of the massage they prepare an enormous tub for us, at sunset, facing the sea, full of petals and foam, champagne and fruit... amazing! We stay there just one night, dinner on the beach by "moonlight"...
then, included, a breakfast in the room, which it's an understatement to call abundant, and two lunches... all for only 400 dollars! I can only tell you that I'd go back a thousand times and, despite 3 days of light rain in peak season, we came back very tanned and happy. don't bring too many clothes, you won't use them! shoes?! and what are those? I took mine off as soon as I arrived and put them back on for the departure.. use total protection or at least 30, as you know it's the geographical position that makes them dangerous... the sun is perpendicular to you! you risk a lot if you use lower protection, believe me! writing this I've relived a dream and I've been filled with so much nostalgia for that magnificent place...
