THE PEARLS OF THE INDIAN OCEAN! I had dreamed of them since I was a child... I always heard them called "the last true earthly paradise"......those who had been there before me said the sand looked like talcum powder and the sea water was a warm aquarium of fish! So curious about all this that in March 2006 we decided to book our summer holidays in the Maldives!! The impact on arrival was truly thrilling! The Maldives appeared before my eyes even more beautiful than I had imagined, and I can confirm everything I had been told about these islands! If you want the very best of sea beauty with warm, calm waters, if you like fish, if you like relaxation and sunshine, the best place to go is exactly the Maldives! We stayed in North Male Atoll and precisely at the Thulhagiri Island Resort, a small oval-shaped island about 300m x 300m.
From Thulhagiri we did several excursions including the capital Male, the deserted island, the fishermen's island and a few islands where there were other resorts. On this trip, besides the many colourful fish, I saw dolphins, sharks, manta rays, stingrays and a turtle for the first time....priceless emotions!
