Tunisia by motorbike March 2010 with my motorbike I set off for Genoa, with spare parts for my 1991 Yamaha 600 tenere, all important parts that might be needed, weighing a total of 5 kg, which I carry inside a small backpack. The meeting is for 3 pm at the port of Genoa, the motorizzonti van that will carry my motorbike in its belly is already waiting for me. there are 2 motorbikes that the fiat combi accommodates, while the other 7 motorbikes board the ferry on their own wheels and with their respective owners on board. The crossing to Tunis lasts about 22 hours. The next day, after getting to know all the members of the group, we disembark and cover a few hundred km of transfer, where in the evening we sleep in a hotel in Sousse,, From here for the following days my motorbike starts going on its own wheels.
The landscapes in the following days are very dry and sand predominates, camels and sheep everywhere, I'm the slowest of the group, the other motorbikes were all large-displacement bmws except one road kawasaki. we always travel on asphalted roads anyway, including the one built by Rommel the desert fox, on the borders of Algeria. The climate is on the cool side but with the sun it's very pleasant, I put my wheels on a salt lake too, very striking. ( the days pass quickly, it's always like that when the trip is beautiful, in the blink of an eye I find myself back in Genoa, the only mishap on my motorbike the broken chain then replaced at Kairouan.
