The story

Off-road tour to discover Tunisia. Tour operator: Francorosso, budget around 750 euros excluding drinks and optional excursions. The tour is very interesting, especially for the magnificent landscapes so different from each other and for the 2 nights in a tented camp, different from the usual. The hotels were all satisfactory; Djerba disappointed me a little, the beach was covered in seaweed, probably a seasonal phenomenon. The mountain oases are worth noting, truly beautiful. Also excellent: the guide, the driver and the travel companions. Absolutely recommended for anyone with at least a bit of an adventurous spirit.

You're always on the move with your suitcase ready and there are lots of kilometres to cover, but the drives along the tracks in the middle of the desert are truly unique; the drivers perform "acrobatics" on the dunes, obviously with the passengers on board!!! At the end of April the temperatures are already rather high, especially in the desert and in the central hours of the day. Great weather apart from a sandstorm on the penultimate day that ruled out the night in the tent and we had to move to the bungalows next to the camp. If you're a fan of ceramics, bring an empty suitcase along: there's something for every taste at rock-bottom prices, and all magnificent.

Optional trips: 1) camel ride in the middle of the desert at sunset: a must-do! 2) little train through the mountains, Grand Canyon style, lasting 2 hours round trip: absolutely yes, the landscapes are wonderful! 3) botanical garden + zoo: skippable, nothing exceptional, one to do just to pass the afternoon. Total cost of the 3 excursions: 50 euros.
