Réunion Island, a true paradise on earth!
A holiday immersed in nature, among waterfalls, volcano, mountains and lagoon...

La Réunion, a small French island located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, is a dream for all trekking lovers. Listed since 2010 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (peaks, cirques and ramparts), this island offers a variety of breathtaking landscapes and trails: a mountainous landscape dominated by the Piton des Neiges (Peak of the Snows - 3070.5 m of altitude), also called the "Roof of the Indian Ocean", whose summit is visible from all over the island, as in the 3 cirques (Mafate, Salazie, Cilaos); A spectacular volcano among the most active in the world, the Piton de la Fournaise (Peak of the Furnace - 2632 m of altitude), without of course forgetting the rare beauty of the primary forests.
The trails suit all tastes and all levels: from the family walk of about half an hour to the "Grand Raid", also called "La Diagonale des Fous" (the diagonal of the madmen), a sporting event that gathers every year hundreds of daredevil runners! (162 km for 9643 m of positive elevation gain!). ( ) The choice is yours!
The National Forestry Office has marked more than 1000 km of trails, without counting the three Grande Randonnée (Long-Distance Trekking) trails that cross the Réunion mountains, namely the GR R1 or "Tour du Piton des Neiges", the GR R2 or "Grande Traversée de l'île" and the GR R3. ( )
Possibility of benefiting from the services of a "PEI Guide", a qualified guide who will let you discover the island in an original way. A pleasant formula for practising trekking in complete safety while learning various anecdotes about nature and local history, and sometimes discovering unspoilt sites!
An unrivalled environmental heritage. La Réunion is an exceptional site on a heritage and scientific level, and in this regard naturally finds its place among the 34 "hot spots" of world biodiversity. The survival of many ecosystems (present until now in the Mascarene archipelago) depends on their long-term conservation on the island of La Réunion. The island of La Réunion offers a great diversity of landscapes and this landscape richness constitutes a real trump card both from a heritage point of view and as regards tourist development. Preserving these sites is therefore fundamental for the local population.
The Landscapes:
Immense geological depressions, they are located in the heart of the island. Each cirque has its own identity: Salazie greener and more lush, Cilaos brighter, Mafate more preserved from civilisation and more austere.
The Piton de la Fournaise offers desert, mineral and even lunar landscapes, the Plaine des Sables (Plain of the Sands).
Located at altitude, they enjoy a temperate climate and present landscapes unusual for a tropical island. Here cattle breeding develops.
Beach and built-up areas line a turquoise lagoon. (excellent for scuba diving!)
A wild and original landscape that strongly recalls the African savannah, it contributes greatly to the diversity of Réunion landscapes.
A true Mecca for trekking lovers, La Réunion will be able to charm young and old, sportspeople and amateurs, as well as all admirers of Mother Nature. Witnesses of one of the most beautiful natural spectacles in the world, you will not leave disappointed by this adventure!
