Tour Operator: Condor Cost of the trip: 1150 euros (excursions not included) Village: Acquarius
What can I say??? Magnificent Kenya and a splendid people!! The only downside, which after a while you do get used to: the impossibility of enjoying the beach or simply taking a walk on your own because of the so-called beach boys, lads always around (they pop up from everywhere before you even notice!!) and ready to offer you every kind of thing, from a safari in the savannah to the simplest of tours along the beach!! However, during an unpleasant episode that happened to my Mauri, with whom I shared the first of the many trips we hope to make together, consisting of a close encounter of the third kind with the spines of giant sea urchins, these lads, as I say, always around...proved to be uniquely helpful in their attempts to lend a hand!! On our side, and above all on Mauri's, a certain dose of recklessness...see the photos to understand!! The excursion into Tsavo East was wonderful, s
o many animals spotted and magnificent scenery!! I recommend the Acquarius to everyone: besides having immaculate gardens, it has the peculiarity of being inside the village, so that when you leave the resort you find yourself surrounded by ordinary people and can watch them going about their daily lives. Surely someone will ask you to leave them a few things (flip-flops, bags, perfumes..) once your trip is over; the important thing is to remember to whom and what you promised...
it happened to us, quite unintentionally, to promise a pair of flip-flops to two different lads who almost came to blows just to claim ownership of them, which they said was already theirs by right! Bear in mind that the attempt to calm things down by offering a T-shirt was useless...those flip-flops had been promised and only those could be accepted! A real mess!! Other than that, I recommend everyone visit the nearby "island of love", reachable on foot by crossing the village; the only warning, in this case, is to wear at least shorts and a T-shirt, so you cross the village covered out of respect for the religion of its inhabitants, partly Muslim. The tide phenomenon is fascinating!! As for the rest, I'll leave you to discover the wonders of this fantastic place, which I warmly recommend!! Have a good trip!
