It's wonderful to be able to share a lifetime's travels with other people... to express your own opinions and emotions in order to help other travellers. Ours was the longest honeymoon ever heard of, since it began on 4 August in America... and then ended in style with Kenya. Nothing against the United States, but honestly Africa stole my heart... for its vast territory untouched by man, for the scents you breathe walking along the narrow streets where the shacks blend in with nature... the endless children who run after you while you're in the jeep, just to give you their smile, despite all their poverty! In Africa you realise how pointless it is to get angry while you're driving to work because you're in a hurry... in the frenzy of our everyday lives we never stop to think how you might live without your comfortable little habits...
well, if you get the chance, go to Kenya and LOOK at people's eyes, at the simplicity of their days, but above all at how their smile and their warmth make them so special. We did the safari in Tsavo East park with the beach boy ZUCCHERO, who was the only negative point of our holiday, a dishonest and unreliable person, unlike DIDA, who turned out to be a fine person. Go and buy flour and beans to give in the villages; we went with ANGELO NERO and DANIEL. We shared our experiences with a very likeable couple, Elisabetta and Andrea. Remember to bring felt-tip pens and notebooks to give to the children who live near the savanna... who don't even have clothes or candles for when the sun goes down!! Wonderful trip.
