I stayed at the Garoda resort in Watamu for a week at the end of March with friends (45 people in total). For me it was my 2nd time in Kenya and so I knew what to expect. Starting with the beach boys, which is a fairly normal phenomenon in countries like this, so you have to get used to it and know how to handle the situation. Most of them are good lads who may try to earn a little something by selling you handicrafts or taking you on some outing. The legendary safari (legendary since it's in all the reviews) I organised from Italy with Ziro Epson, known as The Lawyer Luca

a fun, reliable and competent guy. With him we did the Tsavo East and the Blue safari The village has an excellent location because it's close to the town, 5 minutes by car, and this also lets you go out to see how life goes in Kenya (it's about 2h30 by bus from Mombasa airport). Well-tended greenery, comfortable rooms with a balcony and small sofas (we had the first room of the resort). The Italian food is good for being in Africa, entertainment is present. Staff fairly helpful. All the guests are Italian (with the pros and cons).
Stayed at the end of March 2013, travelled with friends
