A trip that will stay in our hearts.
A trip that, day by day now that we are back, has ever more charm.
For us, Kenya today means: faces, smiles, happiness, hakuna matata, carefree, jambo, sea, sun, stars, infinity, earth, hospitality, dirt, smells, chaos, overtaking, looking costs nothing, children, so many children, bare feet, schools, potholes in the roads, Jammy...
Yes, Jammy... We absolutely have to thank Jammy, because we were in Kenya precisely thanks to him... Henson Kahindi Katana, known as Jammy. Met through the internet, he acted as our guide for all the days we stayed in Africa. And the advice is precisely to rely on local people to do this: prices through an agency or a resort are very high, and we, for much less than what they were offering us, visited not only Tsavo East (the safari park closest to the coast) but also Amboseli (and it is absolutely worth it) and spent a splendid day on a boat for the blue safari. Don't be afraid to do as we did!
Amboseli definitely, everyone: the sight of Kilimanjaro, the immense plains with the quiet herbivores grazing, the colours of dawn and sunset... Postcards that will stay in the eyes. And in the heart. See you next time, Kenya.
We leave you Jammy's email and mobile: mail: jammysafari@yahoo.com mobile: 00254734646977 and you can also find him on fb.
