Here we are in Egypt again!! This time though not in the Red Sea but.....Mediterranean Egypt, what a marvel!! This new tourist resort is being born right now; in fact there are still few hotel facilities, and the town is gradually opening up to tourism. The airport is the military one of the city of Marsa Matruh, very small and poorly equipped (for the moment), the roads are mostly uneven and the city is very poor. Outside the tourist villages there are no attractions other than the historical and monumental ones; it's a place suited to those who love a totally relaxing holiday. It is 6 hours by bus from Cairo and almost at the border with Libya. The village where we stayed is the Carols of the Swan club. An excellent facility in every respect, very large and well kept.
The food leaves something to be desired, mostly local dishes, but those who can adapt will always find something edible! ahaha!!! The entertainment is very soft, but all the entertainers are nice and friendly, very good in their cabaret evenings and shows. It's an enchanting place, with a Caribbean-like sea and beach, almost hard to believe that it was the Mediterranean....the photos will tell the rest!!! Bye Egypt!!!
