The story

Tour Operator: Karambola Flight: Neos (maximum punctuality and efficiency!! Excellent service!!) Resort: Blue Reef Total cost: 914 euros

The holiday was organised under the banner of total relaxation! My Mauri and I in fact decided to postpone the visit to the archaeological sites that Egypt offers to another occasion, perhaps during a cruise organised ad hoc! The resort appeared to both of us very comfortable and pretty, it may also be for the excellent view from the room; in any case, we very much appreciated the hospitality and the food offered to us! Another point in favour of this resort: the absence of a jetty for access to the coral reef. Before leaving, both Mauri and I feared that this would create some problem for us, and instead, to our enormous satisfaction, we were able to see the possibility, even for us, with no experience whatsoever in the matter and also a bit clumsy, of making many and many outings at sea in the company of wonderful fish without any difficulty.

What a marvel not to be forced to always have those horrible structures under your eyes! Along with the sea outings, our days were dedicated to long walks along the endless beaches (the use of rubber shoes is recommended!), a shame about the presence of rubbish of every kind abandoned with the most total carelessness, one hopes not by the tourists. Considering the fact that ours was to be a holiday under the banner of rest, we opted for only two excursions: one to Sharm En Luli and the other to the Dugong Bay. I recommend everyone visit Sharm En Luli which, as you'll be able to see from the photos, represents the Caribbean of Egypt, at least for me! Distance from the resort about an hour and a half (euro 25 including lunch and drinks). Stunning seabeds, an infinity of multicoloured fish and an almost total absence of wind thanks to its sheltered position.

As for the Dugong Bay...given that they had guaranteed us the absence of wind which, on the contrary, that day seemed to me to blow harder than at our resort, I must say that, apart from the pleasant sighting of some sea turtles, the rest of the excursion immediately turned out to be below our expectations for a series of reasons: the considerable number of people...I'd say the most total crowding that prevents you from enjoying every single sighting of fish and other things and, above all, from photographing; the possibility of receiving "fin slaps in the face" if you don't keep a proper distance..., the divers who scan the bottom make the surface water murky....the seabeds have nothing to do with those of our Blue Reef...and to conclude, no sighting of the dugong! That's how it went for us; so as not to discourage you, however, I must admit that others who had preceded us had been lucki

er, speaking to us among other things very positively about this bay! Personally, I had never been to Egypt and people had warned me about the presence of strong wind; however, I must say that if it had been missing it would have been a problem to stay in the sun since it beats down hard at least until 3pm! The only sore point is in fact the sun setting very early, but that can't be avoided! I wish a Good Trip to EVERYONE, until the next account!
