Our 14th trip to Egypt. As always we keep away from the areas built ad hoc for tourists, complete with village and entertainment. We went mainly to snorkel and dive. My daughter (12 years old) had asked me for a diving course as a Christmas gift. So the choice fell on the Hotel Vandom, both for the very good Last Second offer and for the good diving. Good, and we didn't even eat badly. The diving area, on the other hand, is excellent. There are many interesting spots for those who want to dive, including "Elphistone", a famous coral wall rising in the middle of the sea where spotting oceanic whitetip sharks (Carcharhinus Longimanus) is almost guaranteed. For the rest it's the wonderful Red Sea with many kinds of coral and fish. Thanks to Gianluigi (Ferrara) for the underwater photos.
